How Minkzy came to be
We recently hit a magical stage where friend after friend started announcing that they were expecting. Because I’m terrible at searching out registries and I hate how uninspiring it feels to buy baby goods in large department stores, I tried my hand at making something personal. One something turned into another, friends started buying for one another and Minkzy Creations was born.
Products
Growing up my mom referred to an iron as "a four letter word" - one we were not allowed to use. Thanks to that experience, I tend to opt for materials that will hold up well and don’t require a lot of fuss when it comes time to wash them. All our products are pre-washed with hypo-allergenic detergent and can be tossed in with everyday laundry again and again.
Minkzy’s line of flannel blankets, chenille burp cloths and velour “snuggles” are colorful, soft and have some character. Even better, we make all our products on site in our Seattle studio. Pink for girls and blue for boys can be fun, but our goal is to capture fabrics that connect with the person giving the gift as much as the parents to be. If you see an item in a package that you want to mix and match, give us a call.
Packaging
With all the stuff that can accompany a new arrival, our goal was to create a package that’s fun to open, but won’t leave you feeling guilty about the waste. We offer complementary gift wrapping with all packages. Our products are nestled with colorful tissue inside recyclable Kraft boxes with 3" wrapping and a bow around the middle. Each package includes a 3 x 5" gift card. If we're shipping the package, include your personal message with the order and we'll hand write it for you.
Orders
We can accommodate special requests, arrange shipping dates to coincide with events such as a birth or shower, and we’re happy to find mutually convenient drop off/pick up locations for local orders. We ship Priority Mail through the US Post Office which means your order will typically arrive within 3 days.
Custom orders generally take 7 - 10 days to prepare. If you live in the Seattle area and would like to drop by our studio to create your own package or schedule a pick up, please contact us.
